Today we have a bonus video from Fr. Greg Heille—a very challenging message from the prophet Amos, who chastises the people from building their prosperity on the backs of the poor. However, Amos also acknowledges that God stole the land from the Amorites to give to them, and thus, blessings seem to almost always come at the expense of others. Perhaps, to make sense of this, we need to cross over to a new understanding, crossing over to the other shore where God lives.

The Prophet Isaiah invited those who were suffering to come out and feel God's saving power. We are also invited to dive into the river of God's grace, and to invite others to do the same.

Ezekiel had a vision of a trickle of water flowing from the temple, but growing greater and greater as it flowed through the world. In the same way, the recognition of the dignity and call to mission that baptism confers on all people that was affirmed at the Second Vatican Council is bearing greater and greater fruit as the years pass.

God made a promise with Noah after the flood that there would never be another one. By Jesus' death and resurrection, we are promised not that we will never die, but that for every death, there can be a resurrection. Trust that promise to lead you out of the darkness of death.

The Psalm asks God to 'teach me your ways, O Lord." There are places where we each can hear God more clearly. Where is yours?

Jesus asked, "who are my mother, and brothers, and sisters?" Are we willing to rethink this basic human relationship and invite all people to be part of our family in Christ?

The scribes said that Jesus drove out spirits because he was possessed by Beelzebub. Do we judge others harshly, or do we look for signs of how the Holy Spirit is working in their lives to grow in virtue and encourage them in that.

On this Feast of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, we pray for young Christians who will undoubtedly have their faith tested, that we might help them to grow through this towards a deeper more mature faith, and that we can let them know that they are signs of hope for us.

Christmas has finally come, where we celebrate the birth of the savior bursting forth like the sunrise, with a promise of a new day, a new season, new life, and renewed hope.

On the Feast of Andrew the Apostle, we hear of Andrew's initial call, when he dropped his nets and immediately followed Jesus, and we are reminded to remember back to the time when we first heard The Call of faith and reignite those flames.

In today's Gospel, Jesus encourages his disciples to persevere despite great opposition. We can only hope to persevere with God's help and with each other's help.

On this Feast of All Souls, we pray for those who have died—not only those who we have known, but for all who have died and are now separated from us by that thin veil of death, that we all might be united once again in the great beyond.
