On the occasion of the sending of the Apostles, Fr. Dominic Holtz, OP muses on the role of encountering God through mediators—concluding that, even though we are imperfect ministers, when we proclaim the Good News, it is really Christ proclaiming it through us.

Should we change or stand firm in our faith? It depends on which keeps us closer to Jesus, repenting or standing firm in the faith, no matter the cost.

Fr. Dominic Holtz, OP uses the example of Our Lady of Guadalupe to remind us to not be like Narcissus, only speaking of ourselves, nor like Echo, only repeating the words of others. Instead, when Mary appeared in the guise of the indigenous people, she encouraged them to tell of their own faith in their own way, and to listen to the stories of others.

Just as Jesus cleaned out the Temple in Jerusalem, creating a quiet space to pray, Fr. Dominic Holtz, OP asks us, as living temples of God, to clear out space in our lives to have sacred time to pray.
