Do You Remember What God Has Already Done?

A Word of Hope for October 30, Friday of the 30th Week in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Samuel Hakeem, OP, Promoter of Vocations for the Dominican Province of St. Albert the Great.

Are we as aware of the good things God has done as we are of our need for Him?

In today's reflection on the Psalm response for Mass, "How great are the works of the Lord," we're invited to pause and remember God's goodness: in our own lives, in the history of the Church, and across the whole story of salvation. Time and again, God brought Israel out of slavery, out of captivity, and out of seemingly impossible situations. That same pattern plays out in the world and in each of our lives.

Taking time to reflect on what God has already done increases our hope, our faith, and our trust in Him, and gives us strength to face whatever difficulties today may bring.

Today's invitation: Set aside a few quiet minutes this week to sit and reflect on the good things God has done in and through you. Hold on to that awareness with thanksgiving, and let it strengthen you for the good things to come.

"How great are the works of the Lord." (Psalm 111)

May God bless you and strengthen you today and always.
