Families Experience an Inside Look at Dominican Life
 What does life look like for a Dominican student brother? Thirty-nine family members had the chance to find out during Dominican Parents’ Weekend, September 18–20, 2026, as student brothers from both the Dominican Province of St. Albert the Great (Central Province) and the Province of St. Martin de Porres (Southern Province) gathered at St. Dominic Priory and Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis. The Central Province’s Office of Mission Advancement hosted the weekend’s events with the help of Fr. Michael Mascari, OP.
Through prayer, Mass, meals, and conversation, families experienced the rhythms of the community their sons call home. At Aquinas Institute, Br. Thomas Goble, OP, and Br. Benjamin Steary, OP, of the Central Province joined Br. Dominic Enrique Gonzales, OP, of the Southern Province for a candid panel discussion about life as a student brother.
Fr. Edward Ruane, OP, offered a closer look at Dominican formation, while Fr. Michael Mascari, OP, introduced the academic program and led a tour of Aquinas Institute. The weekend gave families time to ask questions, get to know the friars, and share in the life their sons are building together. Families also headed home with welcome bags and a few Dominican keepsakes to remember the weekend.
