Praedicare Spring 2026 Issue
In this spring issue of Praedicare, we are delighted to highlight the myriad seeds of hope taking root at Catholic campus ministry centers led by Dominicans throughout the Midwest and in Puerto Rico. From Indiana University to Purdue University to Aquinas College to Hope College to Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, our friars and campus ministry teams are welcoming unprecedented numbers of young adults to Mass each week. Friars report that students, both Catholic and non-Catholic, are seeking to find an intentional community and searching for clarity about their faith. Dominicans attempt to meet these young adults where they are in their faith journey and then accompany them as they grow in their relationship with God. We, as a Province, are grateful for the opportunity to engage in this life-giving ministry.
We also celebrate two student brothers who will be ordained to the priesthood this May: Br. Dominick Jean, OP, and Br. Joseph Van Havermaet, OP. In addition, we are pleased to introduce Nancy Rowland, a Lay Dominican with the St. Albert the Great Fraternity in Los Alamos, New Mexico, who shares how the following along through our Dominican rule sustains her and motivates her to generously upcoming e-newsletters and social support the Province, and especially vocations.
Finally, you will hear from Fr. Luke Barder, OP, and Fr. Brendan Curran, OP, who invite you to learn about their ministries to immigrant communities living in Denver and Chicago, respectively.
