Ministry in Madison: Alive and Thriving

Last month, Fr. Patrick Norris, OP, hospital chaplain and ethicist at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, was recognized for his unique ministry in the Diocese of Madison’s Catholic Herald.  Fr. Norris, who is the prior of Blessed Sacrament Priory, began his hospital chaplaincy eight years ago and sees his job of ministering to the sick and downtrodden as key to actualizing Pope Saint John Paul II’s “New Evangelization.” In his work at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, Fr. Norris makes himself present for those who feel left behind, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when many of the ill have been sequestered away from friends and family, and to help them encounter God through these more limited personal encounters.

More recently, the Catholic Herald celebrated in print Br. Terrence Bullock’s 63rd anniversary as a Dominican friar on August 15, 2020. Br. Terrence is a self-taught organist, a talent he has used throughout the years, and he still plays at Durward’s Glen Retreat Center and Camp Gray on occasion. Please join us in congratulating Br. Terrence on his sixty-three years as a Dominican friar! You can read the full story below.
