The Fifth Sunday of Easter: Hospitality in a World of Conflict

Remote video URL

What does it mean to be a "proclaimer of Good News" when the world is filled with war and uncertainty? In this reflection for the 5th Sunday of Easter, Father Brendan Curran explores the "emerging" early Church and what it can teach us about our own calling today.

From the appointment of the first seven deacons in the Acts of the Apostles to Jesus' famous words in the Gospel of John—"In my Father's house there are many dwelling places"—Fr. Brendan challenges us to move beyond our doubts. Like Thomas and Philip, we may not always know the way, but we are reminded that we have already experienced God's presence. Now, we are called to be "ambassadors of hospitality" for a world struggling in the Middle East, Ukraine, Cameroon, and right here at home.
