For Monday, 2 Mar 2026.
Unlike Matthew's "Sermon on the Mount," Luke presents Jesus on a plain, delivering a direct and challenging message: "Be merciful as your heavenly Father is merciful." This reflection explores the spiritual law of reciprocity—that the measure with which we measure will be measured out to us.
Drawing on the wisdom of Pope Francis and the "Golden Rule," we are reminded today to stop judging, stop condemning, and instead become a people of mercy. As Psalm 9 declares, God is awesome and merciful; our Lenten call is to live in dependence on that mercy and "pass it forward" to everyone we meet.
**Scripture Readings:**
