3 January • The Honor & Obligation of Being Children of God:

Remote video URL

Welcome to "A Word of Hope" for January 3rd, the Saturday before Epiphany. Today, Fr. Bob Keller speaks to us from the Chapel of St. Catherine of Siena House in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Fr. Bob begins with a personal memory of growing up in a small town, where being recognized as his parents' son carried both an honor and an obligation to uphold the family name. He connects this beautifully to the First Letter of John, which reminds us that we are "Children of God."

While this title carries great nobility, Fr. Bob challenges us to remember that it is not a finished status, but an ongoing transformation. Just as Jesus, the Lamb of God, reflected the Father through sacrifice, we too are called to bring that spirit of sacrifice into our workplaces, families, and neighborhoods.

Watch this reflection to understand how to truly bear the family name of God in your daily life.
