Description:
"Feliz Año Viejo!" (Happy Old Year). As we reach the Saturday of the 34th Week in Ordinary Time, Fr. Yamil Samalot Rivera joins us from the Dominican Priory in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, to mark the very last day of the Liturgical Year.
Before we begin Advent this evening, the Gospel of Luke calls us to be vigilant. Fr. Yamil warns us not to let the noise of parties or the anxieties of life cloud our hearts. Instead, we are invited to enter the "School of Mary"—practicing a contemplative silence that allows us to see God in our midst.
In this reflection, Fr. Yamil challenges us to identify the modern "tribulations" that block our faith: placing political ideologies above the Gospel and closing our hearts to immigrants and those who think differently than we do.
🇪🇸 Note: This video concludes with a brief summary in Spanish.
